I have found that I have had the pattern of beating myself to the ground because of a fear that the world will… and I’d want to do it first because I felt it would hurt less. What I’ve come to realize is that whether I do it to myself or the world does it to me, how I treat myself is how the world will treat me. It’s the same… so it starts with loving yourself. The pain, darkness, and despair within will be transmuted with persistent and consistent love and gentleness. The oasis we do long for is within each of us.
The Oasis of Our True Self
There are many times we may feel we are
Aimlessly in a desolate desert.
How do we get to a place
Of accepting and allowing the flow of life
To take us on the Wings of the Divine,
To fill our spirit with a renewed sense of purpose,
To taste the waters of Divine love?
The Oasis we so long for is within
Each of Us.
The path through the desert to the Oasis
Can only be tread with Love.
Every dying tree,
Every worn bush,
Every tired creature,
Embrace with Love and proclaim:
“I love you. I love you.
Please forgive me for creating
This desert within myself.”
Love is the rain
that will heal
The desert of
Love is the answer.
Love will wash away all that binds Us
From the Oasis that is our True Self,
The Seat of our Homecoming.
